Wednesday - half way!

I like Wednesdays...they always remind me that there is a beggining, middle and end...and the end always comes after the middle. OK, that was very random.

I would like to share with you all that i BAKED yesterday for the first time in 1 year!!! WOW! I finally have a kitchen, and oven, and most importantly...TIME! I made Zucchini Loaf...which I slightly altered to include walnuts and chocolate chips...it turned out perfect (if perfect is your husband eating 5 peices and still wanting more ;) I went to Wisbeys yesterday to pick up some fruit and veggies...they have 10 zucchinis for $1.25. I couldn't pass up that deal! Dan and I love zucchini...so we will be eating it in many forms over the next few days :) I think cooking and baking is one of my favourite things in life. Last night i made Greek food for dinner...tonight is slow cooked roast beef with yorkshire pudding...can't wait. I think food must be my passion...i've probably talked about food in my blog with too many exlamation marks...i think i'm in the wrong business. This weekend my mother in law had an open house at her new Bakery/Cafe in Fort Langley. I served there and absolutly LOVED it! I'm going to be working there everyother Sunday and whenever else I can work in between...we'll see where that goes! Her place is called Tracycakes...it's on Glover Road in FL...come visit :)

Well, this was a very random blog...sorry to bore you. I'll have some pics posted soon. This weekend Dan is going Bow Hunting...so a few of my friends are spending the wknd at my house...it's going to be FUN! Oh yah and we STILL aren't finished our house. Jaci's boyfriend Matt has become good friends with Dan and is coming over tonight to help him back fill and put in a rock pit. There is still 1/2 a wall left to put siding on and then stairs to be built...getting CLOSER!!!

HEY! Hope you are all doing well! I'm just having lunch...chilli dog...yummy...so i thot i'd fill you all in on my life. :) This week my best friend Jaci has been over all week helping me paint my stupid siding. She is a lifesaver...i don't know what i would do without her! Jac, you're awesome! Love ya! Other than painting...i've been over to my mother in laws Bakery Cafe helping her set up her cash register and that kinda stuff...it's looking fantastic! She is having a grand opening party on Sunday...she is serving 100's of bit size cup cakes for tasting...i'll be in heaven! I am actually serving that night...and probably will be serving there on weekends...so that will be fun. A nice change in pace from office work! I need it! Last night we went to the Roxy in Vancouver of Grandville street for a Hasting concert. It was AWESOME! We went with Jaci and her boyfriend Matt...before the concert we went to THe Olive Garden for dinner...it was excellent. They have the best salad ever! AND there chocolate mints that they give you at the end are my favourite! Fantastic night all around. But today I'm tierd...at least it's Thursday. OK, I think that's all that's been going on lately...good times. I think our dog is depressed. He's so funny and emotional. The other day we went down to the river with Paul and Denise and Buddy ran onto the road, so Dan yelled at him to get off the road. So he ran back down the trail to the river and sat in the middle of the river with his back to us ignoring Dan calling him. He's so weird! It's like his feelings were hurt..can dogs feelings be hurt? I don't know about that... So anyways, now he's not really eating too much food! I don't get it. OK, well i'm going to go for a walk...have a fun day! Remember 4 hugs a day!...or was it 5...let's just make it 6.

Vacation

It's crazy that it is already the middle of August! Time flies when you work 12 hour days! Hahaha! That's what it has felt like for the past few months. Last night i sat down at 9:30 and i realized how much my back hurt! Yesterday I woke up at 7:00 and scrubbed my floors, then went to work, then came home and scrubbed more floors & did more sorting and cleaning...i'm actually having a fun time setting up house and settling in. But we did take a break from the craziness of life and went on vacation.

We spent the first 5 days at Green Lake with my family. It was great! We sun tanned (for the 3 sunny days we had TOTAL), slept, played games (wingit & rook), wakeboarded, went boating, went for walks, ate lots of wonderful food & slept more. It was wonderful to spend vacation time with the family...great memories. My neices, Janae & Rachel, and SO FUN! I love every minute i get to spend with them! They are a blessing :)

The last 5 days of the trip we spent at Canim Lake with Dan's family. We did much of the same stuff that we did at Green Lake...add a few martinis :) We came home feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to do more work at our house!

We still have siding to put on & lots of odds & ends to finish up. We have 2.5 acres to landscape (oh man), and a rental house to build. Just when i think my life is slowing down...it doesn't. But it's good! I like being busy...as long as i get atleast 1 night a week to do NOTHING, then i'm good to go! It's been so much fun cooking in a real house and having baths in my soaker tub....ahhhh I'm happy.

Other than that...work is good all around. Dan went fishing last night and caught a nice Sokeye Salmon, so we'll BBQ it up tonight with a homemade maple sauce! Can't wait! This weekend my family is coming over for my Mom's B-day! Our first big party in our house...i'm really looking forward to it! We would like to have an open house soon...so i'll keep you all posted! We are constantly reminded of our Fathers faithfulness! We are so blessed to be where we are at in the beautiful location right by the river...it's perfect!

HEY! Just wanted to leave a quick note and let you all know that we are alive :) We went on holidays for 10 days...and now i'm just crazy busy with work, sorting our finances & trying to get settled and FINISH our house. I'll post some pictures and stories soon. Hope you are all enjoying summer :)
